The least of these

In His last recorded teaching before the cross, Jesus told us where to find Him: among the hungry, the thirsty, the stranger, the unclothed, the sick, the imprisoned (Matthew 25:35–36). Serving them is not extra credit for advanced disciples — it is where the walk goes, and where we meet Him.

Start where you are, with the time you have:

• Send an encouraging message to three people God brings to mind.
• Pray, by name, for the people on your street or in your building.
• Set up a small recurring gift to a local food bank.

• Visit or call someone who lives alone.
• Cook double tonight and carry a meal next door.
• Write to someone who is sick or in prison — "as though in prison with them" (Hebrews 13:3).

• Mentor a newer believer through their first 40 days.
• Volunteer monthly where your city already serves — shelters, schools, hospitals.
• Practice hospitality. A set table is a mission field (Romans 12:13).

Share your faith

The journey on this site ends with the path multiplying — because that is how Jesus ended His time on earth, sending His followers out with a commission and a promise:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit… And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”Matthew 28:19–20

You don't need a stage or a seminary degree. You need a story, and gentleness: "always being prepared to make a defense… yet do it with gentleness and respect" (1 Peter 3:15).

Your story matters

The first missionary Jesus ever commissioned was a man roughly one hour into following Him — the freed demoniac of the Gerasenes, who begged to come along in the boat. Jesus gave him a better assignment:

“Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.”Mark 5:19

No training course required for that one. If He has had mercy on you, you are qualified to say so.

Find a church

The walk was never meant to be walked alone: "not neglecting to meet together… but encouraging one another" (Hebrews 10:24–25). When you visit a church, look for three simple things: the Bible opened and actually taught, the gospel of grace at the center, and people who learn your name.

• Visit one this Sunday — imperfect and present beats perfect and hypothetical.
• Ask about baptism and small groups in your first conversation.
• Find a place to serve within your first month; belonging follows serving.

The path that began in darkness ends at a table with others.
